RE: Obscene, Objectionable, and Heinous Comments by a Board Member
As Chair of the Northwood School Board, I would like to address the recent obscene and
heinous comments made by one of our Board members, Gary Caron. These comments
were made in a private capacity, outside of School Board business and do not reflect the
views or values of the School Board or the Northwood School District.
The Northwood School Board is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful
environment for all students, staff, and community members. We take allegations of
inappropriate behavior seriously and are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of
professionalism and integrity.
The comments made by Mr. Caron are obscene, and objectionable and have caused
significant concern within our community. I want to make it unequivocally clear that the
School Board does not condone these actions in any way. These actions have also created
a distraction from the important work of the School Board, which is focused on the
education and well-being of the Northwood students.
As Chair of the School Board, I am requesting that Mr. Caron resign from his position on the
Board, effective immediately. His actions are inconsistent with the values of our
community, but also prevent the Board from fulfilling its purpose effectively.
The School Board remains committed to serving the best interests of our students and
community, and we will continue to uphold all principles of respect, inclusivity, and
accountability.
